History Speaks
Expand your understanding of our local history by attending the History Speaks! Lecture Series, held from October 10, 2026 through April 10, 2027. These engaging lectures take place on the second Saturday of each month in season at 11:00 a.m.
Our history lectures are designed to enrich our understanding of DHS and the Coachella Valley. Suggested donation: $5 for members, $10 for non-members. Tickets are available online or at the door. Members will receive an email with a discount code before each event.

Discover the Rich Heritage and Natural Wonders of Our Region
We have been proud to host in-depth presentations that illuminate the unique and captivating aspects of our region. Our presentations provided programs that delved into topics such as the environment, geology, archaeology, and the lives of historic figures and communities that have shaped this area’s story.
These presentations provided a rare opportunity to engage with experts, uncovered fascinating stories, and we gained a deeper appreciation for the history and natural beauty that surrounds us.

Discover the Rich Heritage of Desert Hot Springs
The Desert Hot Springs Historical Society is committed to uncovering the stories that have shaped our community. We are continually sorting, scanning, and uploading our ever-expanding collection of photographs, newspaper clippings, artifacts, and oral history interviews. These materials offer a fascinating window into the early history of Desert Hot Springs and the individuals who helped shape its development.
We invite you to be a part of this journey. Take a tour of our beautifully preserved funicular Rock House, explore our rotating displays, and delve into the rich history of Desert Hot Springs. Our treasures don’t just preserve our past—they illuminate a vision for the future. Every item in our archives tells a unique story, helping us understand who we are and where we’re headed.
The Rock House is located at 66050 3rd Street, Desert Hot Springs, CA, and we’re open most Fridays from 10 AM to 2 PM—be sure to check the calendar for our current schedule of events.
