Have you ever wondered who “owns” the vacant recreational land around the Coachella Valley?
There’s not a simple answer to that question, as at least 15 different agencies share responsibility for overseeing the care of the local trails, wildlife, riparian areas, palm oases, public campgrounds, and desert wildlands.
We will hear from representatives of three (3) of these agencies; Karin Jaffie, from Friends of the Desert Mountains, Peter Satin, with Coachella Valley Conservation Services & CVAG, and David Paisley, with Oswit Land Trust. Through their talks and videos, you will see places in the desert that you may never have encountered before.
